AI can write more code, but engineers must still own the system

A Hacker News discussion argues that AI agents can take on more implementation work and assist with design analysis, but engineers must remain responsible for deciding what to build and what evidence is sufficient to accept it. It warns that bounded model context and summarization of long sessions can lose the conditions behind decisions, and suggests keeping durable architecture decisions in a small, reviewable document.
