Altman Says AI Models Now Mostly Smarter Than Top Scientists

Speaking at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said AI has gone from mostly less capable than top scientists at the start of the year to mostly smarter than them, and can now handle many parts of white-collar work. He stressed humans must stay in control and that AI should serve people, not the reverse. He called physical power supply the sector's biggest bottleneck.
