Beijing Forms Mathematicians' Alliance for AI Research
Beijing launched the Yau Mathematical Sciences and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory Alliance, led by Fields Medalist Shing-Tung Yau and uniting eight institutions with over 1,000 expected researchers to build specialized math AI models, generate hypotheses and formalize proofs. Yau said China lags the US in AI for scientific research, where American firms have recruited thousands of scientists and drawn major industrial investment.
