Yandex Music replaces recommender with one transformer
Yandex Music's Sona replaces 15+ candidate generators, pre-ranking and ranking models with a single transformer, using History Compression to roughly halve inference cost. In a 7-day smart speaker A/B test, it lifted Active Users by 4.53% and Total Listening Time by 6.30%, though catalog coverage was lower than the production stack.
