DeepMind and WRI release global forest typology map
Google DeepMind and Google Research, with WRI and IIASA, released ForTy 2020, a 10-meter map classifying all land into six forest and land-use types, plus a yearly 2017–2025 time series showing whether natural forest was replaced by plantations or farms. It serves as a baseline for the EU deforestation regulation.
