Democrats James Talarico and Gina Hinojosa won Texas' Senate and governor races after making data centers a central campaign issue, with Hinojosa pushing a moratorium. In September, Gov. Greg Abbott had already directed a regulator to halt data center permits. The Stargate Frontier project under construction in Texas is projected at 1,820 megawatts.
