Smithsonian uses AI to connect American Revolution artifacts
The Smithsonian launched the Revolution Crossroads project, using AI models to search its collections and link data from other institutions like the Library of Congress to uncover stories of historical figures and communities. Since applying AI in the spring, it has quickly found connections that previously required extensive manual searches, such as a 1774 silversmith's advertisement.
