Ohio State AI framework LUMINA maps lunar landing sites
Ohio State PhD candidate Gokce Inal built LUMINA on the lunar vision-language model LLaVA-LE to assess landing sites, flag hazards and find geologic features, aiding the hunt for water ice. Early results show it can produce scientifically meaningful mission commentary.
