EPFL develops implantable neural chip LogSync
EPFL researchers built LogSync, a low-power implantable neural system-on-chip that records cross-region brain signals and extracts oscillation and synchrony biomarkers, then uses machine learning to identify cognitive and emotional states in real time. It targets adaptive deep brain stimulation for psychiatric conditions such as depression and PTSD, moving beyond single-region, open-loop systems.
