Brazil's LGPD turns six as reported data breaches jump 222%

Brazil's LGPD has been in force for six years; ANPD data show reported incidents rose 222% over five years, from 186 in 2021 to 599 through October this year. System vulnerability exploits led at 142 cases, followed by credential theft (107) and unauthorized access (89). ANPD's remit is expanding to include ECA Digital and a pending AI legal framework.
