A developer presented DOOMFORMER on Hacker News, replacing math operations with DOOM game mechanics and voodoo dolls to build a working transformer alternative about 65,000 times slower than NumPy. It can classify MNIST digits, roughly converse and play DOOM; the author seeks collaborators to scale it up.
