Val Kilmer returns via AI in 'As Deep as the Grave' trailer
The first trailer for indie historical drama 'As Deep as the Grave,' unveiled at CinemaCon, features an AI-generated likeness of the late Val Kilmer as Father Fintan. With approval from his estate and daughter Mercedes, filmmakers used generative AI and archival material to complete the role, saying they followed SAG-AFTRA standards on consent, compensation and collaboration. The move has sparked debate in Hollywood.
