Texas Democrat bill seeks to restrict artificial superintelligence development
As Xi Jinping and Donald Trump meet and seek common ground on AI safety, Texas Democrat Rep. Greg Casar and Sen. Bernie Sanders are pushing legislation to restrict development of AI models that could go rogue. Brendan Steinhauser of the Alliance for Secure AI called the issue bipartisan, citing cybersecurity, critical infrastructure and loss-of-control risks, and urged congressional action.
