AI maps mitochondrial protein interactions to reveal disease targets
Texas A&M researchers used AI to screen over 630,000 pairings of about 1,100 human mitochondrial proteins for likely interactions, linking many disease-associated proteins to previously unknown pathways. The study also gave 85 previously uncharacterized proteins their first probable partners, pointing to diagnostic and therapeutic targets.
