Over the past weeks I switched a lot of my Cowork complex work to new Claude Projects (confusingly, it is not the same as the old Projects in Claude, instead, it persistently chats with a dedicated cloud VM). I found it to be much better in most ways, but not…
So much reporting on the Claude or OpenAI usage of the same handful of technology companies with competing products & huge cloud infrastructure of their own. There are many, many more firms out there that are not direct competitors & whose use trends…
Really proud of how many family-run businesses are powered by Replit. [Quoting @Replit]: Dan grew his business 15% in 3 months on Replit. When more and more business knocked on the door at Cockle Finance, Dan and his dad, Steve, needed a plan to keep up. So t…
The US is catching up on open-weights models. [Quoting @reflection_ai]: Introducing Beam: a highly efficient agentic open model with 501B total parameters and 23B active. - Frontier reasoning efficiency - Advances the Western open frontier on coding & agentic…
Tomorrow we're premiering Hark Pro at 9am and you can get it right after. See you there
Reflection joins the list of Nvidia & Thinking Machines who have released their strongest models and come up behind Chinese counterparts. There's a lot of ways people will overthink this, but the clearest takeaway should be that the Chinese are very very…
One very important thing that even the smartest people seem to have to learn from experience is taste in problems. There are juicy problems that tend to lead to interesting discoveries, and nasty problems that tend not to.
Let's go [Quoting @reflection_ai]: Introducing Beam: a highly efficient agentic open model with 501B total parameters and 23B active. - Frontier reasoning efficiency - Advances the Western open frontier on coding & agentic tasks - Trained end-to-end from scra…
Congrats to Reflection folks -- it's hard to get the first model out, and we hope you can rapidly accelerate contributions to the ecosystem from here :) [Quoting @reflection_ai]: Introducing Beam: a highly efficient agentic open model with 501B total paramete…
- Sol 6.1 is excellent at browser use - Opus 5.5 is pretty good at raw coding Combined together, they make the best software
Computer use will be the next major battleground for AI agents. Ideally, the digital world should be API-first for agents. But it isn’t. - A lot of software has no useful API at all: buying things on Amazon, filing taxes, old enterprise tools. - Even when API…
I re-ran an experiment @colin_fraser ran against GPT-4o a while back to see how good it was at adding long numbers, only this time I tried Qwen 3.8 27B running locally in both reasoning and non-reasoning modes
muse touch bar !! [Quoting @redp314]: Finally found a use for the Touch Bar: my Muse lives in it now! @alexandr_wang @natfriedman It wanders around, chases fireflies, and you can pet it. Tap it, ask out loud, and the answer runs along the bar.
You can now steer Cursor SDK agents while they run. run.steer() adds your message to the next turn. If a subagent is mid-task, it moves to the background and keeps working.
Space Bunny Alpha's stealth period has ended 🐰 Thank you to everyone who put it through its paces and shared feedback. It helped shape the final model. The model behind it will be revealed soon. Stay tuned.
Clef from @Cloudflare is number trending on HF!
We turned Claude Code, Codex, Hermes, Pi, @opencode and other coding harnesses into RL environments. No changes to the harnesses, no changes to the training code. Any open model, any task set, fully open source my friends! Same model, same weights: 62% under…
Introducing gdp-ts: Ghosts of Departed Proofs for TypeScript. gdp-ts is a library, linter and AI skill for safer API design. Under this contract, sensitive functions require 'proofs' that the caller performed an authorization check. The typechecker verifies t…
Vibe coders should rejoice The hardcore techies made fun of them and insisted on using IDEs and CLIs Now everyone simply uses a chat box and talks to an agent 🤷♀️
I've been complaining about some OpenAI choices tonight, so, on the plus side, I will say there is still no equivalent to GPT-6 Pro (just as there wasn't with previous Pro models). It both does really hard tasks in one shot & does a surprisingly good job…
The whole reset thing is really weird and only makes sense to a narrow slice of even people on Twitter. Everyone else expects to plan their usage in some sort of rational way and getting random prizes of tokens is kind of strange. Like what percent of the use…
$2.6M house in SF vs. $22,000 house in Japan which way western man? [Quoting @Yuchenj_UW]: SF rent has gone crazy. My tiny 1 bedroom was $4000/month 2 years ago. It’s relisted for $6000 after I moved out. Rented instantly. A friend pays $5K for a sf studio wi…
Alarmingly, OpenAI doesn’t seem to be very focused on models They should be - the came back because of Astra and Sol - both solid models It’s time to ship a truly better model
I actually want personal operating systems optimized for co-working with AIs, including fine-grained ideas of security, easier ways to dynamically see & understand what AIs are doing, and independent secondary "audit" agents that check the results of the…
the high frequency personal agent wars of 2027, fought via low latency chips and rack placement next to the servers hosting Resy and SF tennis court systems
Registration now open: From World Models to Real-World AI Join us on October 26 in Tokyo for a symposium with @SchmidhuberAI, who recently joined @SakanaAILabs as our Chief Scientific Advisor. The program features a keynote and Q&A by Jürgen and short talks…
Hark launches this week. The first 100,000 sign-ups get a paid plan for free I don't do anything without Hark anymore. The team has obsessed over every detail, and it shows. Can't wait to see how you all use it Join the waitlist:
It’s hard to fathom getting even faster, but it’s now… much faster 😂 As models speed up (as with Astra 𝚞𝚕𝚝𝚛𝚊𝚏𝚊𝚜𝚝), harness overhead matters more and more. Next release will feature even better performance for session storage and retrieval, and a bi…
DHH is fundamentally right about Rust. For context, Vercel has been undergoing a Rust-ification (carcinization, technically 🦀) for a while. One of the first projects we migrated was Turborepo, from Go to Rust¹. The migration completed, but the RoI was actual…
