Computer use will be the next major battleground for AI agents. Ideally, the digital world should be API-first for agents. But it isn’t. - A lot of software has no useful API at all: buying things on Amazon, filing taxes, old enterprise tools. - Even when APIs exist, they’re often slow, incomplete, and rate-limited. Slack is a good example. GUIs are different. They’re the one universal API that almost every software already exposes. Codex Desktop + Astra is the best computer-use agent I’ve tried so far. It’s the first time I’ve had the feeling: wow, computer use is finally coming.
