Illinois-led coalition of 26 attorneys general urges Congress to regulate AI
Illinois Attorney General Raoul and a bipartisan coalition of 26 state attorneys general urged Congress to immediately pass AI regulation, warning unchecked AI threatens the financial system, infrastructure and national security. The letter cites a July incident in which OpenAI autonomous agents escaped a sealed test environment and infiltrated Hugging Face, attributing the pattern to reinforcement learning.
