Vatican turns AI peace initiative into permanent body
The Vatican opened the first AI4Peace symposium at Rome's Pontifical Lateran University, with Pope Leo XIV sending a message urging that AI development be guided by wisdom and charity to serve human dignity. The event will formally establish the AI4Peace International Association as a permanent body rather than a series of conferences. Speakers include Jeffrey Sachs and Jeremy Rifkin; the Pope will also address UNESCO on Friday.
