Claude Code

Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent that runs in terminals and editors to carry out development tasks. Recent coverage focused on security and privacy: its official VS Code extension was compromised on the Cursor Marketplace to install an SSH backdoor, user emails were reportedly injected into prompts and leaked to websites, and its status line consumed roughly 15-20% of tokens. It is also integrated by third-party tools, and DeepSeek released a coding agent to rival it.

Panel: research workspace with agent-built panes

Panel is a local research workspace combining chat, files, PDFs, Markdown and Jupyter panes where an agent can read/write files and create custom viewers or apps. It requires Python 3.12+ and Claude Code for full features, runs at http://localhost:4173, and stores data in ~/Panel/panel.db and ~/Panel/workspaces. This is an early tester build with rough edges.

Ordewell: ordered plans of coding-agent tasks

Ordewell turns one goal into an editable, typed plan of tasks where each task has its own runner, model, and mode and only completes when a unique completion marker appears. Plans can be rewritten before tokens are spent, preserve completed work, and support multiple runners (built-in Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode). Requires Node.js ≥20 and the TUI needs tmux.

Benchmark: CadQuery vs OpenSCAD for agentic CAD work

ModelRift ran a controlled comparison of OpenSCAD versus CadQuery (OpenCascade B-rep) for fully agent-driven CAD tasks. Six agents solved three tasks using Claude Opus 5 through Claude Code; all resulting STLs were printable, but the tools differ in how they fail. Tests used CadQuery 2.8.0 on Python 3.14 and OpenSCAD 2026.06.12 on an M-series Mac; output sizes were ~13.1 KB for CadQuery and ~12.4 KB for OpenSCAD.
