I am so grateful to the inquisitive Import AI community - it brings me a lot of joy to highlight research in the newsletter and for it to generate meaningful interest [Quoting @vinayprabhu]: Looks like the surface area of the @jackclarkSF DM-saga is crazy and…
Microsoft-Decision-1 is live on OpenRouter. Microsoft's numbers: highest accuracy across 36 blind benchmarks (~150K questions), 4.5x faster than the runner-up, 35x faster than GPT-6 Sol, and decisions flip on just 1.3% of perturbed inputs. Post-trained from Q…
We’re beginning a process of publishing more frequent reports on model behavior, beyond what appears in our system cards and regular risk reports. Today’s report describes four types of behaviors we’ve identified during evaluations and internal use. In each,…
I’m more bought into AI becoming far more efficient, which is a massive lever on diffusion, than I am on AI models making massive breakthroughs that result in eliminating all the known weaknesses of LLMs. Happily spending a few hours reflecting on RSI after a…
It's incredible to watch a new kind of economy be born. Agents purchasing infrastructure products and services. We've been shocked by how often they buy from our marketplace via our CLI already. We're now extending this to domains. Agents can now go full stac…

What's the best open weight Mixture-of-Experts LLM for coding that fits in less than 60GB of RAM? I think MoE might be necessary to get reasonably interactive speeds on the hardware I have access to - I want something faster than 12 tokens/second
Saw a video yesterday: A math PhD and her advisor spent 6 months proving a theorem. Before publishing, they asked ChatGPT. AI found a more elegant proof quickly, using an approach they'd never considered. They have an existential crisis now. But mathematician…

Some communities are excited by AI’s impact on their field. Others are petrified. What’s the deciding factor(s)?
Right now, using AI agents still feels very single-player. They do your work, but the results are trapped in isolated chat histories and nothing compounds. The Busabase team (@Busabase4agent) is launching an open-source (MIT) database and workspace for agents…

Lower prices are simply coming with worse performance 😲 Frontier labs are cutting prices aggressively but they are also nerfing the models to make them more efficient Luna 5.6 is still the best variant because Luna 6.1 performs worse
Fable and Astra still have a lot of room for improvement - they make random assumptions - don’t think holistically - extremely bad at complex UX - no sense of time or AI effort We are at least two generations away from the Super Intelligence! Plenty of time f…

Every one of my mathematician friend sees beauty in the numbers, shapes and the natural phenomena they work with. Who defines beauty in the age of machines?🤔
