GPT-6 Sol and Luna are great models but also these characters are so cute [Quoting @OpenAI]: Please welcome GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to the GPT-6 universe. GPT-6 Sol and Luna build on the advances behind GPT-6 Astra, bringing much of its strengths into faster…
Please welcome GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna to the GPT-6 universe. GPT-6 Sol and Luna build on the advances behind GPT-6 Astra, bringing much of its strengths into faster and more affordable models to support work at scale. We’ve also made caching and inference m…
Opus 5.5 feels like chatting with a way smarter Opus 4.6. I’m so happy.
its interesting how claude manually wielding the brush leads to a very different form of creativity than diffusion based models (and it shows how deeply this generation of claude can _see_) [Quoting @jkeatn]: for the past few months i've been asking our model…
/btw to initiate side chats inside a Computer session with a shared snapshot of the context. [Quoting @AskPerplexity]: We launched side chat in Computer. Ask a quick question about a Computer task in a separate, read-only side chat while the main task keeps g…
Frontier: pacing Pulling up the ladder: accelerating [Quoting @M1Astra]: Claude Opus 5.5 will be the first Opus meant to fall back to a less capable model for "a small set of capabilities related to the development of frontier LLMs, such as kernel development…
Claude Opus 5.5 is now available in Cursor! It's the new top model on CursorBench at 57.8% (Max) and costs 40% less per task than Opus 5.
As part of our efforts to pace the frontier, we’re committed to supporting independent assessments with deep levels of access across training, evaluation, and deployment. That access should enable third party assessors to challenge our assumptions, identify r…
Whenever I see a model top this chart, it's normally a bit of a red flag. Would love to be proven wrong! [Quoting @synthwavedd]: As expected, unfortunately the only bad thing about the new Opus is it's a token-gobbling monster. Uses the most tokens per Intell…
The tweet below got enormous pushback at the time I posted it, more than 5 years ago. But this prediction is looking obvious by the day now. [Quoting @fchollet]: Within 10-20 years, nearly every branch of science will be, for all intents and purposes, a branc…
Lots more coming soon. Today is just the start! [Quoting @mikeyk]: We’re also launching Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Haiku 5.5 in the coming weeks. These models will come with many of the same improvements to performance, efficiency, and safety. With that, happy bui…
Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 is now available in Hermes Agent via Nous Portal! [Quoting @bridgemindai]: OPUS 5.5 BENCHMARKS JUST DROPPED. It beats Fable 5.1 and GPT 6 Astra across the board. Agentic coding, knowledge work, reasoning, computer use, visual recog…
Opus 5.5 just dropped and it’s astounding! The model totally nails everything in one shot It’s the fastest way to one shot everything and is 25% cheaper than Opus 5
Opus 5.5 was a good model in my early tests, first non-Fable/Astra model to feel like a Fable-class model, but still hasn't fully solved the dense language issue of the recent Claudes. Its version of the same shader (broken towers are a nice touch): [Quoting…
Holy crap, these numbers look good. I haven't had a chance to test the model yet... but if it's as good as these benchmarks say, it will be a massive step up from Fable 5.1. Just think about that... 5.1 is now outdated. This is what acceleration looks like. […
lfg - terraforming mars will be one of the big quests starting in the 2030s [Quoting @erika_alden_d]: Today, Pioneer Labs is announcing our first step towards terraforming Mars. 🚀🌼 With equipment that fits in just a single rocket launch, we can convert Mart…
Most bizarre benchmark result lol. Stick with Opus 5.5 med, folks.
Claude is back. Opus 5.5 is ~30% faster and ~40% cheaper per task than Opus 5. That’s really attractive. Time for me to open Claude Code again after ignoring it for a month...
Claude Opus 5.5 is now available to all Perplexity Computer users. On our Wide-And-Deep-Research evals, it compares favorably to Fable 5.1 at a fraction of the cost. Opus 5.5 will become the “Standard” Effort orchestrator on Computer for all Pro and Max users…
Opus 5.5 is a really good model. It's been my daily driver the last few weeks. We had Opus 5.5 and Fable 5.1 each port HAProxy from C to Rust. Both passed nearly all of HAProxy's tests, but Opus 5.5 finished in 9.5 hours compared to Fable 5.1's 12 hours, and…
Love the tastefulness with which anthropic ships. Main reason I got excited about 'headless' for the web is that any given page could take whatever whimsical or unique shape you wanted. With AI, there's no excuse not to push the design frontier. This is @next…
Using Opus 5.5 feels like hitting every green light on your drive home, drinking a cold glass of water when you're thirsty, and a hot shower after a long day. It's super smart, it writes clearly, it's fast, and it costs way less. It's a very good model. [Quot…
Claude Opus 5.5 is available today. [Quoting @claudeai]: Introducing Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in our new Claude 5.5 family. It performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 for most tasks, and costs 40% less to run than Opus 5.
exciting news!! we’re partnering with @PayPal to enable customers to seamlessly shop and checkout online with @Muse across all PayPal merchants worldwide. we will not rest until your muse can ship till he drops!!! [Quoting @PayPal]: We're excited to partner w…
People outside the AI labs should have a real say in how this technology develops, and a clear way to judge if it's happening safely. Standards should help prevent the concentration of power, including by making sure new companies and open-model companies can…
Introducing Perplexity Research Fellowship: a program for early-career researchers, engineers, and analysts from any technical or quantitative discipline to work on AI research.
Frontier models will see a huge jump this week... Effectively, increasing the gap between them and open-source to 9-12 months I expect open models to close that gap back to 6 months the week after that 😆
MiMo-V2.6 is "simply" the best (for now). Despite its simple architecture design it's currently No.1 in the open-weight benchmarks (weighted average). With "simple," I mean a classic Grouped Query Attention (GQA) with Sliding Window Attention (SWA) at a tiny…
At the G20 Innovation Ministerial, @JensenHuang joined U.S. Commerce Secretary @howardlutnick to discuss the infrastructure the Intelligence Age requires. A gigawatt-scale AI factory is a $50–60 billion investment. At that cost, the architecture cannot be so…
