US state AI laws surge to 115 in 2026

Transparency Coalition co-founder Jai Jaisimha said on a podcast that 27 states passed 84 new AI laws in the first half of 2026, rising to 115 laws in 30 states by Oct. 15. He credits constituent concern and better-informed legislators for the pace, and discussed AI's growing clinical use.
