UK prosecutor cited AI-invented case; judges call it a failure

A senior UK Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor cited an entirely fictitious precedent in a High Court case over whether a child should be prosecuted. Two High Court judges called the explanation unsatisfactory and an AI-law expert called it a "serious failure"; the reference is understood to have come from an AI search response.
