St. Thomas expert: independent body needed to regulate fast-growing AI

Manjeet Rege of the University of St. Thomas says that while catastrophic scenarios are uncertain, AI is becoming more capable and autonomous quickly, so warnings should be taken seriously and an independent regulator should be considered to reduce risks.
