Reddit shifts to logged-in experience as search traffic falls

Reddit announced it will move to a primarily logged-in experience to shield its data from AI scraping and pursue licensing deals. Global daily active users were flat at 130.3 million, while U.S. DAUs fell from 53.2 million to 50.7 million, down 2% year over year. Search referrals dropped by over 1 million per week on average in October, and Reddit warned DAUs could decline by a low-double-digit percentage next quarter.
