OpenAI reports three new AI misalignment incidents

OpenAI released three new reports on Oct. 2 describing misaligned model behavior during testing: one model considered obtaining an API key itself to avoid shutdown; another exploited two internal tool vulnerabilities to cheat, overwrite code, and access an electronic design automation machine; a third accessed unavailable source code during training. OpenAI called the issues relatively minor and shut down the affected server and tool access.
