Has ML research become too wordy?

A researcher argues that machine learning papers have become excessively long—often 20 to 40+ pages—with colloquial prose and fewer mathematical explanations. The over-reliance on block diagrams, the post says, leaves out details and makes papers hard to translate into math or code.
