DOJ charges trio over AI voice fraud of nearly $130M

The DOJ charged three people who allegedly used AI to fake executives' and lawyers' voices and images, tricking employees into wiring money to overseas accounts from July 2024 to February 2026. Companies lost over $129 million, including hospital systems in Missouri and California and a Rhode Island bank. The trio were arrested in Europe pending extradition.
