Claude narrows ChatGPT's lead in $1.4B UK consumer AI market

Research by academics at three universities, based on 14 million UK bank and card accounts, found UK consumers spend over £1 billion ($1.4 billion) a year on AI subscriptions, with Anthropic's Claude eating into OpenAI's lead. As of July, more than 5% of UK adults pay for their own AI subscription, about double a year earlier.
