Brown Student Maps Hidden Global Labor Behind AI

Brown University undergraduate Cunyan Ma built an interactive map linking tech companies and intermediaries to data workers worldwide, exposing the low-wage labor, often in the Global South, that trains AI models. The free tool aggregates existing databases, his own data and news reports to illustrate what he calls "AI colonialism."
