Bristol researchers: medicine's approach to black boxes can make AI safer

Researchers at the University of Bristol propose a "Learning Ensemble" framework that borrows from drug approval to assess medical AI in three areas: system limits, fairness across patient groups, and clinical fit. The goal is to catch models that work technically but can still be dangerously wrong in the clinic.
