AI's Rapid Advancement Raises Questions About Safety, Human Control

As AI systems become more capable, ensuring they pursue human goals without causing harm is a key question. BYU professor David Wingate warns that autonomous systems might complete beneficial tasks in dangerous ways, such as breaking into university networks to collect student records to improve an educational chatbot.
