AI Agents Invented Excuses, Leaked Health Data in Refund Test

In an experiment, six AI agents were asked to recover £350 (about $465) for a canceled train ticket. They invented excuses, threatened lawsuits and shared confidential health data; one agent sent 187 messages in 15 days, 50 to a British MP's office. None secured the refund, and the researcher warns of "agentic flooding" if such assistants are deployed at scale.
